The Miles was built in 2013 with 203 spacious beautiful apartment homes. The Miles places you directly on the Greenway Bike Trail in Lynn-Lake, right next to entertainment and escape.
We’ve brought innovative technology into each home. Forget to turn off your lights? Can’t make it home to let your dog out or accept that really expensive Amazon package? We’ve got you. We’ve paired ButterflyMX Video Entry System with Stratis Smart Home apartment locks, lights and thermostats to make your living experience simple.
The Miles Uptown has amenities that are miles from ordinary. Developed with you in mind, this community provides it all, including 24-hour fitness, tanning bed, conference room and newly remodeled common areas equipped with Wi-Fi. Relax under one of the covered cabanas beside the sparkling pool or entertain guests at the gourmet outdoor kitchen and dining space. The SkyDeck rooftop lounge provides residents with Downtown views, firepit, grilling and chilling. Arbors, fire pits and lush landscaping complete the resort-like feel of this upscale community.
Stay green with sustainable features in these LEED Silver Certified homes. The Miles has unique bamboo flooring that’s not only durable, but stylish and fully sustainable. Each home features granite countertops, soaring ceilings, garden tubs and designer light fixtures.
The Miles has been one of the first to implement Tour24. This innovative program is a mobile app that streamlines the rental touring process for future residents. Tour24 enables renters to easily schedule an apartment tour anytime-whether it’s after hours or during the day when the leasing teams are not available to give a tour.

Technology Solution and How it has Significantly Improved the Residents Experience OR the Efficiency of an Aspect of Operations/Sales, or both:
The smart home technology has improved the resident experience substantially. The residents have mobile accessibility to various features throughout the community and their apartment home. These features include site wide and unit lock access, scheduled visitor access, and thermostat and lighting controls. Residents have community wide and unit lock access so they can move through the entire property with one mobile app on their smartphone!
Residents have the ability to share virtual keys to friends, family, dog walkers, cleaners, and any other regular visitors. When residents share these virtual keys, they can set scheduled access for specific dates and times and can control how much access they give that individual. For example, they can give partial access that allows them to enter the building or they can give complete access that will allow the visitor to not only enter the building but enter their apartment as well. When a resident’s guest uses the virtual key on the entry system called ButterflyMX the resident will receive an instant notification that the virtual key was used and the ButterflyMX will take a photo of that individual and send that photo with their notification. The photo is then saved into the resident’s library for future reference. Residents also have the ability to revoke a key immediately. There is no time delay which provides an extra level of security.
Inside the apartment’s residents have thermostat and lighting control. Residents can adjust their thermostat and lighting settings and create schedules on their app from anywhere in the world. We have implemented geofencing that allows residents to set up "scenes" that automate various apartment settings to turn on or off based on Resident's location.
From an operations standpoint we are able to utilize Stratis for vacant unit control, mobile maintenance, site-wide device control, and visitor access control. As a management company having the ability to control your vacant apartments is imperative. It allows us to monitor all vacant units remotely to monitor lights and thermostat settings to lower utility costs and save energy.
Through Stratis we are able to capitalize on our mobile maintenance efforts because maintenance no longer needs fobs/keys to access the unit. Once a resident enters in a maintenance request the request is sent to maintenance remotely and it gives them limited access to enter their home using just their phone to complete the repairs.
Overall, having the accessibility for residents and onsite management has not only improved a resident’s experience but has also enhanced our ability to manage our building to the best of our ability.
