Maintenance also institutes a 24 hour on call emergency maintenance program which offers peace of mind to residents so they know they have support in the event an emergency at any time of the day. Preventative maintenance services are performed year-round and include the replacement of furnace filters, water heater and fire extinguisher service, and air duct cleaning in each apartment, as well as daily grounds maintenance to ensure a pristine living environment.
Avant resides next to the Pedestrian Plaza on the Park. This location features a gorgeous lake with three cascading water fountains, surrounded by a walking path and shaded pavilion Ampitheater with canvas sails for outdoor resident entertainment. Natural landscaping was a primary consideration as part of the green space focus for the Plaza and all other green spaces. Native fish were introduced to the lake to spur natural ecosystem growth while white limestone boulders were installed along the walking trail beside indigenous Mesic plants and landscaping features native to Indiana, adding to the overall design and nature feel. As a new development in Carmel, Avant wanted to demonstrate its commitment to the local community via socially conscious endeavors. To do this, Avant organized and participated in multiple drives aimed towards positively impacting the surrounding community. These drives include the Curbside Food Drive, Curbside Toys for Tots Drive, and an elementary school supplies drive!
The Curbside Food Drive is an especially anticipated event. Multiple schools and daycares participate, including the Primrose School of Carmel. Primrose even arrived in person, with food donations as they taught the children the importance of helping others in need. The Curbside Food Drive resulted in over 2 tons of donated food within our area of properties with Avant being a primary contributor. The Toys for Tots and Elementary School Supplies drive were also extremely successful, resulting in hundreds of toys and supplies donated by residents.
Avant Apartments has taken purposeful, conscientious steps to lower its carbon footprints via several eco-friendly methods.
Motion sensor and light sensor technologies are installed in all public spaces and common hallways, greatly reducing the total amount of electricity used.
Astroturf was selected for use throughout the community, including all patios, ground level landscaping, and at the Pet Park, acting as a green option to cut down on gas usage and emissions from lawn care equipment. Utilizing astroturf also allows for minimal to no turf management and no insecticide use.
The lake with surrounding walking trail is used as a natural rain depository. Pipes leading from the community gutters to the lake transport all rainwater that falls on the community back into the local water table. The lake is stocked with local, indigenous Mesic plants and fish to draw other wildlife to the community and promote a natural waterside habitat. Lit fountains also promote beauty and ambiance as well as improve the water quality in this space.

The community roof was designed and colored white to reflect light and reduce heat gain in the building.
