There are always challenges when growing a family business. But with a bit of creativity, organization and strategy, it's possible to overcome even the most difficult obstacles. The biggest challenge over the last ten years has been finding the balance between being a boss and a team member. It's challenging being in charge of employees while still having someone to look to you for guidance and support. To manage this challenge, I've tried to foster a sense of trust in my staff so that they feel they can come to me with any questions or concerns. Setting and communicating expectations has also been a way to bring order into a rapidly growing business.
